No family, he's only 19. Our deployments are mainly afghanistan and potentially the Congo, but we have a big presence in the blue-top brigades (UN) and NATO. Deployment length varies, but usually not more than 1 year consecutively, but you know how that can change. Minimum enlistment is 3 years, 5 with education, most bases are scattered around the two coasts and mostly in Ontario. Family can be transfered, but there's no on-base quarters for family as far as I know.
