Tell them that it has a cool muffler and shiny exhaust tip too.

I have to agree with them to an extent. I wish they had bumped the horsepower up and offered a Viper T-56. However, $1380 for the SS/T package was really a good deal for what you got. How many other special editions were that cheap?

I hope you're right. I just don't think it will be the case. In 1978 and 1979, the Little Red Express didn't have any competition. It was also as fast as a Corvette and Trans Am. The SS/T had the Lightning and 454 SS to compete against as well as the Indy Ram. Supercharged Lightnings were out the next year (1999) and the Viper powered Ram (SRT-10) came later. I think the 1996 Indy Ram will be the only 1990's Dodge pickup to have any collector status based solely on the Indianapolis 500 connection.
Well, the Lil Red was the fastest production vehicle in the years it was made, so, that does make them more special. But, ours are limited production, whereas the little red was not, it was just how many units sold. And, ours is more like the Warlock, actually. Which is worth pretty good money nowadays. I've seen minorly rusty Warlocks go for 10k. And all they were was a sticker package, nothing else special.

But...the 454 SS's were slow bone stock, and the Lightnings at first weren't even that good looking until they made the newer bodystyle.
Also, ours are basically the same as a Pace Truck. Neither were numbered and both were about the same amount of units produced.

I also wish Dodge would've done a few more things. Like you said, offered a 5/6 speed, supercharged them, numbered them, or even offered a special interior package. But...still, our trucks are special. As much as a GLH Omni or something like that, which are really going up in value, and honestly, its an

So...ours have potential. But, only time will tell.

Until then, any mod I make, I'll keep the original stuff, just in case.
