Default 2010 June - Dodge Ram Member Of The Month

Congratulations to our June Winner

brad12kx

And now a word from your winner.......

I'd first like to thank everyone for this honor and privilege. MOTM…whoda thunk!

Wow….where to begin. Lets see…..Who is brad12kx, and what does that handle represent? My name is Brad (there's a surprise), I drive a Ram and live in Brandon, Manitoba with my wife Deanna, our daughter Mandy and our cat Booboo. Deanna is my second attempt at being a husband, and after 12 years of marriage, I can state with complete accuracy that I am married to the most understanding woman alive and I drive a Ram. She's got to be….if I were her, I'd of gotten rid on me …. well ….. before the wedding! LOL Adopting her daughter Mandy was probably the second smartest thing I have done. The smartest thing was marrying Deanna! Did I mention….I drive a Ram!

I own my own business playing with really cool techy toys. I have my own reasonably well equipped mechanical shop with machining and welding capabilities. I have a passion for things with wheels and engines. I think that my father being a mechanic may have had something to do with this…..but it's a far shot! In one breath he said he would do everything in his power to encourage me to go into any field except mechanics, because mechanics are over worked, under paid and under appreciated. Then I'd say "Dad, my car is broken!" and he'd quickly jump to assist me in 'finding the information so I could repair it myself'! LOL So while going to technical school to take an electronics course, I spent my evenings fixing cars to pay the bills!

What does the handle brad12kx represent? Haven't a clue! Some years back it was assigned to me on ebay. Since the best way to remember it was to use it elsewhere, I do.

I am on my third 'personal' Dodge Ram Hemi Black Sport. The first was an 04 2500, the second was an 08 2500, and the current is the 2010 1500. Not sure what it is I like the most about these trucks, so I'll just have to say, Pretty much Everything! One thing that is completely different with this new Ram, is the excitement I feel about doing some mods. That excitement is due mainly to this forum. I have absorbed so many great ideas, seen so many pictures and write-ups of great ideas that I find myself constantly looking up prices and availability of things to add or change on a truck that I am completely happy with. Doesn't make sense to a normal person, but sure does to a Z addict!

I first discovered the Ram Forumz when doing some research on my newly ordered 2010 Ram. I had questions….the dealership(s) didn't have answers, so off to the internet I went. I came across numerous Ram forums, lurked for a few minutes….and left. One thing that started to show as a trend was every time I ran a search for something technical, or off the wall, there was always a return from this forum, and 9 out of 10 times it was the information I was looking for, and 9 out of 10 times…it was accurate! Another trend I noticed was the obvious lack of petty bickering and flaming between members on the forumz. So I lurked…..for couple of days, then came across and post I wanted to respond to, so I joined up. Then I came across the 'non-technical' side of the forum, and discovered the 'Regulars'. I would log in, and in a few minutes I was laughing. The humorous camaraderie between members was like a magnet pulling me into the forum. This was the place for me! A pleasant mix of technical information, pictures, mod ideas, and crazy people! Crazy about their trucks, their families and their friends!

Anyone that knows me is completely shocked that I am regularly on this forum. This is just not something I do. I am a member on about a dozen other forums, mostly electronic equipment ones, and have been so for a number of years. The highest post count is 6…..and that took 4 years. I'm not into texting, MSN, facebook, twitter, etc….in fact I don't even have accounts with any of those. So why is it so different here? The people! I have met here some of the most amassing people I have every met. To have a current certified Dodge (Chrysler) technician bringing his knowledge and experience daily to assist any and every one…and apply a little correction when needed . To the administrators and moderators that keep this huge forum organized and under control without getting in the way or demeaning anyone. To the member relations people that diligently make sure that every new member is welcomed and offer whatever assistance is necessary to get them comfortable and contributing. To the 'Regulars' that put a fun and social aspect that creates the warmth only found in families and with close friends. To all the members that faithfully ask the questions and offer their own experiences for the benefit of all. This is much more like a home then some internet site, and that I believe is what makes the difference for me.

Hi, my names Brad; and I've just been Z'd…Ram style!
