The older the vehicle is, folks will find more tape will stick to the body and it takes a bit more work to clean it up. When I did my '99, getting the stock molding off wasn't hard, but a lot of residue was left over and that took some time. It's just the nature of the beast.
I found a cool tool...an eraser wheel that goes on a drill or other power tool that really can make short work of that chore. Wish I had found it earlier!!!
True. Since your truck is a second gen (tailgate molding bodystyle) it will take some more work and finesse. My truck took alot of love to get the tailgate lookin right (tape is really thick and heavy to keep that ugly thing on!).
