I don't think the stock turbo is a bottleneck, because there is a lot of power to be made with it, there may be a better vane that you can install. A twin turbo set up will give optimum performance, but be expensive. A little water methanol injection will help a small turbo work great and nitrous will kick a big turbo in the azz to make it spool faster.
