I feel your pain! I pull a 18.5 fiberglass boat with the same set up as yours. I asked the salesperson if this Ram will pull like my Tundra. Yep he says. Ya right! Come to find out, the saleman did'nt even know the difference between rear gears. I thought a truck rated to pull 8000 lbs, has a built in brake controller would pull great. Wrong! Any way, try pulling in 4th gear. That will help your downshifting. Sad to say, my Dads Tahoe with 5.3 pulls my boat better than the Ram with the Hemi. How sad is that!
