If your pressure stays up than you're probably ok. When my fuel pump went out it would be driving fine, then all of a sudden just felt like power was being zapped and she was slowing down no matter how much throttle till I would have to pull over. Would run rough, or die. If I shut it off and let it sit it would run good again for a bit then do the same thing. The harder I drove it the faster it showed the symptoms. Fuel pump wasn't keeping up.

Not saying this is your issue, but wanted to give you my symptoms so you could compare. Definitely understand not wanting to change it. It was a bear.
