I had the same issue when I went from the stock single exhaust to Magnaflow dual exhaust. I believe it was do to the computer re-learning the new flow characteristics. After I ran a tank of gas through it the performance seemed to be back & it now pulls all the through the rpm band and the gains are def. felt in the high end. The same thing happened when I did my intake as well. At first, I thought something was wrong because the truck performed worse, but after a week or so of normal driving the gains came back.

As far as the fuel economy, it's all up to how you drive it. If you're heavy on the gas, you will loose economy, but if you drive it easy off the line, you will see a small gain. (Key word SMALL).
