This is very interesting.

I just purchased my ram a couple months ago. I immediately took notice of the yellow goo in the oil filler tube of my 4.7. I watched it run with the oil filler cap off, lots of condensation there and when I clean the oil filler tube it only takes 50 miles or so to build right back up. I had assumed I had a small head gasket leak, or maybe even a crack somewhere. I have never noticed any real steam in the exhaust or any drop in the coolant level.

Are you guys saying this yellow buildup is normal for this engine? Not an internal leak, while I find this surprising, I would be pleased to know its not a crack or leak.

If this is normal, are you saying that good synthetic oils are better at reducing this occurrence?
