Default Bout to get some gas and matches >:/

I've been having some heat related problems amidst a bunch of others but this one is confusing me to no end. Long story sort i replaced the thermostat multiple times, flushed the system and finally came to the conclusion that the heater core was bad...had that replaced and it worked fine...recently went on a trip back home and it worked the whole way there and back....when i was back home we noticed that the coolant was low so we discovered the leak and fixed it...filled it with coolant and seemed to be fine on the way back...after i got home and i got up the next day (9 degrees outside) the truck would not blow hot air! After driving for 45 min the temp gauge appeared to be a little lower than usual but i think thats cause i was driving down the road at 65 mph with it only being 9 degrees out....needless to say i have no heat in the cab but i checked all the hoses and they appear to be hot (radiator and heater core hoses)...what is going on?
