I would have to recomend storing them on a solid state device such as a flash drive or solid state HDD. They dont have any movable parts and are less likely to go bad. its always wise to back them up on a secondary source in case something happens. you can buy a whole bunch of cheap flash drives and categorize them by year, or subject. If you lose one, you wont lose them all.. Just make sure you back them up.
