. Got woke up to the house next door to me completely engulfed and I'm not 20 feet away, still gives me the creeps because, like Cody, that house is not completely gone. The basic structure still survives, but not much else and because it's in the historic district, it's a big heap of red tape to have it torn down. While, on the one hand, it's an eyesore, it is also a constant reminder of the importance of fire safety and how grateful I am to the quickness of the four fire departments that responded quickly and helped save my home. That fire was ruled arson as the house had been vacant for some time and all utilities, gas and electric, had been disconnected.
