Ok, now we're getting somewhere. Was the axle nut torqued to specs with a torque wrench? When you did the first change after you got the truck did you completely clean out the old grease from the hug and inspect it?

I'm not sure if the 98's have a removable race but they should if the bearings can be changed, so, did the race come out in one piece? (first time I changed the bearings on my 76 power wagon I almost missed the race because it looked to be part of the hub)
