I just got my 2011 after Thanksgiving 2010, trading in my Chevy Silverado. The performance impressed me, that's why I got it. But after 7500 miles I figure the performance cost me about 5 mpg. I drove to FL and back with a 6700 lb trailer. I got 10.5 from the chevy, with the Hemi I got between 7.25 to 9.5 mpg. But when I was going up hill with the Hemi, I could step on it and get around a truck. With the Chevy 5.3 it would take me a while to get around someone. Then after I dropped the trailer I drove out to Vegas and back averaging 16 mpg. With the Chevy I averaged 21. In town now I've been getting 12 mpg. I try to watch the eco light and drive well, but occasionally I step on it. But that's why I got it. I'd like the better fuel economy, but I bought it for performance. This is what I expect a V8 to be.
