Default performance with towing

I use my '10 5.7 to haul a travel trailer, essentially traveling along the east coast where its mostly flat. After 3 back and forths to a beach area campsite I've gotten in the 9mpg range, but I'm wondering if an intake and a tune would maybe help just a little more

I've noticed during my trips that certain speeds, even though I'm not using O/D, will cause multiple gearshifts on what seems to be the slightest incline or a gust of headwind. Its this part of the trip that makes me wary of the effect on gas mileage, and the addition of heat and thus wear on the transmission from overshifting

So, will the addition of hp and torque help me stay in one gear longer on the highway? And might I be able to squeeze a little more mpgs out of an intake and programmer?

I've been using a hypertech power programmer in my car for a while now, and really enjoy the results. But, so far, the only hypertech product I've found for the '10 5.7 was a speedo calibrator

What would be equally nice is if I found a good programmer I could quick-change tunes from normal driving to some sort of "tow" mode

Any suggestions or ideas?
