A skin replacement is definitely at the bottom of the list. It looks like a major PIA. I've read several industry articles about what a hard time technicians have with it. I'm definitely leaning more toward replacing it with a used. However, I like what the guy from Cali said about beating it out and goobering it up with bondo.
A friend of mine recommended I do that and use some sort of planer (Stanely surform) to work it down vs. sanding. Ever heard of that? But anyway, as our friend from Cali said, I've been riding around for over a year with it disfigured, it's not going to get too much worse. Right now the project is on hold because I have work commitments that will prevent me from spending any significant amount of time on it. In the mean time, I may call around to junk yards and see if I can get a hold of some parts.
Thanks again to everybody!
