LOL...I hear ya there, I'll retire at 54. I've talked to quite a few guys who are already retired, including my Dad, and they all say ya gotta have a plan for doing things after you "retire". My Dad never did really retire...he just went on to do other things. Sadly, he passed away this Spring but he had plenty of good years of living how he wanted!
Well Maddog I did much like your Dod.. I went into mortgage banking, Not by choice but was forced into by our government .It was a tx avoidance measure but wound up as a job. I decided to retire @ 48 and when your self employed you just can't run away like a little child .It took 2 full years to faze myself out and faze the kids in.
You know what they say about free advice but I say go as soon as you can ...You never know what's waiting around the corner .
