So I attempted to takle this today and didnt get very far...because nothing was right for the job! The hole for the old oil sending unit was bigger than any adapter that came ith the gage ( but I'm confident I can get another bushing to make it fit ). The old temp sending unit looks like yours sapper, but 1) it was hard as hell to get to! and 2) after I popped the cap off of it, I could see an old brass bushing under it and the hole its srewed into isnt near big enough to recieve the new mechanical gage sensor. How did you get to the temp sender Sapper? It almost looks like I'd have to remove the A/C. I've included pics...and my old oil pressure sending unit doesnt look like your does. It has a cap like the temp sending unit, and then it also has a wire connected to it which I assume was for teh warning light ( not visible in the pic ). So I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to install the new temp gage.
