LOL if my time in the Navy had only been that sweet, i would have stayed in for 20 years

i guess my first 2 years were
i was on an aircraft carrier CVA-34 during Viet Nam
i was in G division as an Airdale
i was in Aviation Ordnance, belting 20mm, making firebombs, repairing bomb skids, bomb & missile assembly, unreps both food & ammo, no fresh water showers, we took bomb hanger lugs out to be able to sleep on 500 pound bombs if we were lucky, old dirty plywood if unlucky, 1 hour sleep in 24 was so very welcome, maybe 1 meal a day, something to do with we had to have a meal chit to eat?? WTF
Everyone wondered why we tore a port up when we finally got to see one about every 90 days, maybe being in port for a whole 4 days at a time & then we got right back to the Gulf of Tonkin. a nine month cruise was less than normal
Needless to say, i was very glad to get the hell out
