All this "chip" does is fool your engine's computer to make it think it is seeing more demand for fuel and it overfuels the engine. They indicate that it also changes the timing to accommodate the additional fuel.

It will make some power (not much) but the additional fuel won't be burned as efficiently as it needs to be. This will send too much hydrocarbon through the engine combustion cycle and that will foul your plugs, carbon up your EGR valve prematurely, cause significant deposits on your valves and heads which creates hot spots and detonation, and eventually will plug up your catalytic converter.

You would be better off saving a bit more for a proper programmer, IMHO.
