I don't really have an answer to your question, but don't be afraid to go with taller gears, alot of people shy away from them because of gas mileage but my experience is that you really won't lose any mileage. I had a ford with 2.42's or something around that, and switched to 4.11's or something like that, and picked up 2 mpg city and got the same on the hwy. My friend has a camaro that came with 2.80's or so and he changed to 3.50's, and he gets the same city mileage and about 2 worse on the hwy, but I believe he drives much faster than 70mph...
