Default Ram Mileage

I'm just amazed at the wide variations in fuel economy with all the Ram 1500s. I have a 2010 Quad Cab SLT 4.7, 3:73 Amsoil 5w-20 OE full synthetic oil and have never been under 16.4 mpg (in winter). I average 17.8-18.2 (about 80% highway) and 16.8-17.4 (80% city). Truck is 100% stock.

Maybe I do several things most would not do. I always watch the info panel and keep the truck in the "eco" mode. Dificult when I first started, but second nature now. Also, my tires are kept at 41 lbs (1 lb over stock, but well within the range of gauge error) And the third thing is avoiding jackrabbit or too many stops and starts. Also, as when I had my airplane, keeping the tank full eliminated evaporation when not using it since a partial tank allows more airspace to allow more evaporation. (I know, partially eliminated by the truck's closed fuel return system, but some evaporation still takes place)

Maybe I go too far, but if it all adds up to better mileage, I'll keep doing it...I love my truck!
