Unless it's different on your truck the tstat should be located in a little housing where the lower radiator hose meets the block. I think you take out two bolts and remove the whole housing to get to it. Just pop out old and throw in new. Only thing is you need to drain the coolant first or you are going to make a mess when you take the housing off. If you catch the coolant in a clean container you can reuse it.

Oh yeah, make sure you get the tstat back in oriented the right way and the gasket on it is intact. I'm not sure if there is a gasket between the housing and the block but there would probably have to be. The parts place or your dealer should be able to tell you.
