I think that what everyone needs to realize is that ALL manufacturers put the least amount of service that needs to be done to show people how little it is for upkeep on their vehicles. The manufacturer will still question if the vehicle has been serviced if there is a breakdown. Even if the service is not in the manual, the manufacturer can still deny warranty. I have witnessed it firsthand. I think that it is most important to service your vehicle to the specifics to where you live and the kind of driving that you do. I always say to my customers, I have never seen a vehicle break down because it has been serviced too often.
