Default 1991 Dodge D150 318 CI dies when sitting idle.

1991 Dodge D150 318 CI dies when sitting idle, then it will not start. I have to raise the hood and let it cool down for 20 - 30 minutes. After it cools down it runs fine. It has done this a couple of times last summer and then again today. I do not think it is vapor locking. I removed one of the fuel lines to check for fuel and pressure. I had my son turn the ignition on while I held a bottle over the fuel line and the open port on the carbureator. I am getting plenty of fuel. I think it is something electrical breaking down under the extreme heat when sitting at idle and no movement of air. It has a new battery. New air pump that is one year old now. The temperature gauge is normal and not overheating when this happens. Would someone please share your experiences that might be the same as this one. I would like some tips for troubleshooting to minimize what it could be. It is hard to troubleshoot because it will fix itself. Thanks everyone in advance for all the help
