Not sure, but it sounds like you are just tricking the PCM into thinking the motor is getting cooler denser air when it's not. If your IAT readings are lower the PCM will make timing/fuel adjustments for the "new" IAT temps. I doubt it would be enough to cause engine damage but you never know.

I recommend getting a custom 93 octane tune b/c you'll get better gains and if it's from a good tuner it'll be the safer way to go.

Or....maybe the dodge engineers overlooked something and what you're talking about could be a nice cheap trick we can all take advantage of! Anyone else have some thoughts?
