No you do not have to pay for the trans tune. Chrysler controls 75% of your torque management by de throttling rpms at shift points and softening the shift pressure at high rpms. SC quick tunes from 87 to 93 and tow comes with a preset trans tune at around 8% TM and a first to second shift point at 6200 rpms with more responsive downshifting. You can adjust the rev limiter (6400 sweet spot), speed limiter to 140 and adjust your preset shift points while keeping the SC tune of your choice. You can also disable the awful MDS. The real beauty of the advanced tune is for lowering TM even further to say like 6% and learning the parameters to have full control over downshifting to your rpm specifications at will.
