Default Towing Near Capacity

So the old man and I have been toying around with getting a small toy hauler. We've found a guy that is thinking about selling his 200? Pace Explorer RT. The trailer has all the essentials for our family in a fairly lightweight package. Untill you actually start hauling your toys.

The trailers dry weight it about 5000lbs. And then you add in 4 250lbs dirt bikes, water, gear and all . . . you could have a 7000 pound turd on your hands.

Now, my 96 short box XCab with the 5.9 will tow 7600 pounds, but you know it isn't going to like it. We've towed 7,000 lbs worth of trailer and GMC, but that was flat ground and it wasn't a walk in the park for it.

So how can I beef up my truck? I've been looking into Air bag suspension, load equalizing hitches and hopping up the truck powertrain wise for some more comfort, but i still don't know if that would get me into a safe ball park.

I know for a fact we aren't going to get good mileage. . . . hahaha
