The dealer can try to not warranty the cat but by law they have to prove that the Y cause the cat to fail.
The problem is that when the dealer gets the cat from dodge each cat is already on a section of pipe. The left side goes from the manfold to the connection under the middle of the truck. The right side goes from the manifold down and includes the Y and short pipe that connects to the left.
So to replace a cat they would have to cut out and weld in the new one which most dealers can not do so they would probably have to send it out and charge you for it.
Yet another part to that is if you look at the prices for the cats from dodge their is a core charge on them so if they do not have an intact part to send back I don't know what happens.
