I hear you on that. I don't on my current tonneau, as it is a hard top that's painted. Although the paint is kinda specally, I don't take the chance. It's a big enough job to polish the truck, so don't want the task of polishing the tonneau slats.

My local wash has really nice Foamy Brushes, I believe they are the horse hair ones. All I know is the owner spent a small fortune on them to try to offer a better product to his customers. They are super soft, but I just can't bring myself to set that on my paint, so after a good spray down, I fill a bucket with soap and water and wash the truck with a chamois....that's right....a chamois. I only use the synthetic ones with the holes, and have to clean the chamois after every small wipe, but boy does it clean well, and almost swirl free.

Best part, when I'm done, the chamois is super clean, and I can use it pre-dry the truck before using the microfibre.

BTW - I only go to the car wash when the truck is too muddy to clean in the driveway.
