I just bought an extang tri-fold.I opted for the more expensive hard cover because I think the quality is there.I've learned [from restoring my old Mustang]that if you want something,go get the best you can find.If its not exactly what you want its a waste of money no matter how much you save by getting the cheaper one.I usually end up paying twice as much for car parts because I try to make a (good deal) work.Have to toss it and buy something better.
So far I really like the hard cover.It looks great.I've heard that there is negative air pressure created in the box.Water and dirt come in through the tailgate cracks.I know of no great way to fix that.Its probably the same throughout all types of covers.
The Tri fold removes completely in 5 minutes and I can put my boat rack in its place very quickly.
