sounds like the shifter linkage is out of whack, have someone to get in the truck and puch the gear selector up into park while you get under and loosen the nut on the bracket at the transmission, the rod will slide a little if out of whack into the correct position on its own as the shifter is being pushed on, tighten the nut back and check to see if it corrected it. It can get knocked out of whack if something on the road hits the rods as well as off roading due to the had jarring, also slamming it into park when mad as well as forcing it out of park on hills. Had several cars do this to me in the past. Hope this helps.
