"P1693 is the companion code...it means that there may be another code stored and you need to use a OBDII scanner to extract it.

You need to go to autozone and have them pull the codes for you(they will do it for free). Word of caution, take their advice with a grain of salt, get the actual codes that appears on the scanner, not their diagnosis. Post the codes here and we may be able to help you diagnose it.
