I can't remember where the check valves were in the cooling lines anymore, it has been many years, but When I bought my trucks, one had the check valves off, and an aux cooler installed, for the fifth wheel towing, and the guy that sold it to me told me about the check valves and Chryslers stupid check valve idea, and highly recommended always taking them off, because at low throttle inputs, they didn't always blow back and allow oil through, made good sense to me and I took em off the 98 when I bought it, and put a $40 cooler on it too. Got lots and lots of not so friendly miles on both of my trucks, and no trouble ever with the transmissions. I think my kid may have removed em at my direction, It's been awhile.
