Good theory but no the Valve seat came off during the Spring and Valve operation when the adjuster got stuck on the broken casting causing the camshaft to push and force the rocker arm into the valve causing the spring to bottom out completely and cracking the spring and bending the valve also causing the the Guide to turn into the valve seat which lead to the seat hanging to be pushed out of its Position. The Tapping in the morning was from the Crack on the adjuster bore due to the aluminum head heating cycle at normal temps the metal expanded and the crank close gap. That was in my case in other people case it could just be leaks in the Exhaust gasket or like you said slow oiling to the adjuster.

The cylinder walls were in perfect condition as for all the rings and bottom end. No signs of the Engine having neglect also no sludge anywhere thanks to the Syn oil.
Bearing had no sign of wear or abuse.
