Yeah...ya gotta "blow" them out once in a while. A friend of mine who owns a small construction company has run Ram trucks forever. He started having problems with the new ones with the DPF system as they idle a lot in the winter. After a few trips to the dealer (about 60 miles away from him) a tech told him about just getting them good and hot to move the material out of the filter and the system...in other words, blow them out and make them smoke!

Seems like that's kind of defeating the purpose of the DPF but, hey, what works, works. He hasn't had to make a trip back to the dealer for this issue since that visit.
