I figured I would share some underground pics I took while working this summer in Thompson, Manitoba (8 hours north of Winnipeg and north of the 55th parallel) I was working in a big underground shop and the 3400 level of 1 of the mines up there, I am a level 2 apparentice HD mechanic and am back in school now
. I tired to resize the pics so they wouldnt take up a ton of room, and they were taken with an old iphone so they arent the greatest, Enjoy!
1 of the 2 service bays (200 feet long by 40 feet wide -approx. the 2nd side was nearly twice as wide) didnt look like this too often LOL
This is a CAT 8 Yard scoop tram used for moving ore that has been blasted, This one was crushed by a fall of ground, squished the top end of the motor and rad, entire motor and rad were replaced..
Standing on top of a rock bolter looking down the smaller bay scoop tram infront and mine cat personnel carrier, the bolters have a sizzer lift that goes about 20 feet in the air

Another rock bolter with the sizzer partially up and brand new boom assembly that I got to install! These are used from putting 4'-12' rods (bolts) into the ceiling and walls in the mine with steel mesh to keep it from caving in
A not full grown 3.5 yard next too a full grown 8 yard scoop, with a dog humper hanging on the back hahah he had 30 years so no one told him what to do

Hose reals on the right with engine oil, tranny fluid, hyd. fluid etc.
I had never really been underground before (went a couple hundred feet at a tourist attraction when I was a Kid, this was the best and coolest thing I have ever done. I worked up there for 3 months and want to go back underground when school is finally done in april!
