It will still have a signal, but the ability to fade left and right will not be available. From what I have read, the mono amplifiers are not manufactured to distinguish left and right. Even if they could, it would not do much good because bass to the human ear is non-directional. This is why even in a car it can be difficult to determine that the sub is in the trunk.
