Well for me I get nearly 2 weeks out of a tank (that's probably a hair of a stretch, but whatever)...

That's:

26 fill ups per year @ 26 gallons(I think?) x $3 per gallon = $2,028

vs:

26 fill ups per year @ 26 gallons(I think?) x $5 per gallon = $3,380

So the difference is $1,352. Yeah it's a lot of money, but realistically over a year with two salaries in the house it's not going to kill most people. Also, I doubt I really drive THAT much, it's just a generalization. Sometimes I ride my bike to work and that's probably about half the year. Also we use the wife's car a lot. So it's probably more like $800 difference or something, not $1,352. IMO it is a lot of money, but not the end of the world. We could probably save more money just by not eating out every damn day lol...
