After driving a Jeep for years with a disconnected front anti-sway bar, I'd have to say that your problem is likely related to the front anti-sway bar. Your symptoms sound exactly like what many Jeep off-roaders just get used to after being to lazy to reconnect the disconnects.

I have not seen in the previous posts were this is mentioned. Be sure to check that the bar itself is not loose within the bushings. I always replace the the stock rubber bushings with poly. Also, make sure there is NO play in the joints were the links connect to the axle. The joints are a ball style and often pull out under heavy stress.
