Default Simple question, just need some help

My taillight covers are the ram head ones, 1 of them is chipped and they are so old and faded... I just want to remove them. They are attatched to the taillights by some sort of adhesive, almost looks like a putty. What should I do to help remove this adhesive without leaving behind marks? Its not urgent, just curious
