Default engine oil for rebuild break in

I'm having my engine rebuilt this week (or two), and my mechanic asked me what oil he wants me to put in. I don't think I will be able to find any "break in oil" here.

I know not to put any synthetic oil in for a while, but what is the best weight to use for breaking in? This is in a very warm climate, if that matters.

Also, I've read arguments that hard break ins (heavy accelleration) techniques are better than the old school slow break ins. Any thoughts on this?

Not sure if it matters, engine will be .030 over, valve job, kegger mod, intake mod, new 180 therm., new coil plugs and wires, with the aluminum plenum fix of course.

Thanks for the input.
