Everyone has their way to do this, I use the same weight oil I will use normally, but I do use conventional. I buy cheap oil, then crank it up and let it get pretty hot, nearly operating temp, shut it down and change the oil. Let it fully cool. Then crank it up again with the fresh(conventional) oil and break it in by varying rpm's a lot, do not hold steady rpm's for long durations. You don't want to beat the hell out of it, but don't baby it also. Try to hit every spectrum of driving style for say 500-1,000 miles. Maybe hit the interstate and vary fro m55-80mph often, varying acceleration rates. Pull off every so many exits, etc.

Then I change the oil again to synthetic because that's what I prefer.
