Got about 8mpg while towing. Over the winter, I got a CAI, superchips programmer, and a 180 thermostat. The truck ran way better and actually had a bit of spunk to it. I got a load leveling hitch and went out with my 1st trip towing the traier in March. Same old thing.... Pretty disappointing. Last week, I went to the dealer and traded it in for a 1500 crew cab 2wd with a 5.7 and 3.92 gears. No comparison!!!!!! The 5.7 hauls ass and gets better mileage. IMO, they should only offer the 4.7 in regular cab 1500s.
Thanks for your post.. its good to hear some feedback from someone who has ACTUALLY used both engines in the 4th gen rams. How noticeable was the difference between the two when you're not towing?
