Default Gen 4 paint issues

I have been following various Dodge Ram forums since 2003 when I bought my first Ram Hemi Quad Cab. I am on my third Ram, a 2012. Never have I seen as many paint issues mentioned in forums as I have seen mentioned on the Gen 4 Rams, especially the 2011's an 20012's. The paint on my 2012 had about forty dust nibs in it. My 2007 had maybe three or four and the same was true of my 2003. What in the heck is going on? There are lots of folks that are very unhappy with all kinds of paint problems...thin paint, debris under paint, runs, fish eyes, etc.

I carefully leveled the dust nibs in the paint on my 2012. I figured if the paint goes bad in a year or two, I'll really get on Chrysler about it. For now it is OK. I do have a record of expressing my concern to my dealer's service manager. Before I buy another Ram I sure am going to be checking forums like this one to see if there are still paint issues. When a service manager says all cars/trucks have these problems, I say BS. My wife has a 2011 Tacoma Sport. No paint flaws...period. I detail both of our trucks used "detailing" lights. Her Tacoma's paint is just a heck of a lot better than my Ram's paint...but that V-6 "ain't no" Hemi.
