Default 2nd gen rust prevention

fellas, i know 2nd gens are notorious for all kinds of rot so first thing i did when i got my ram was look for rust. sure enough, i found it. fortunately it looks like its easy to prevent. i got a farmer friend who swears by using motor oil or drain oil to prevent rust. guess it soaks in and prevents the reaction from happenin. anyhow, worked perfect on my old yukon so i got a pump weed sprayer from ace hardware, changed the oil, filled it up, and went to town sprayin all up in the bedsides, front wheel wells, and rockers. all the insides of the panels can be reached without taking anything off besides the drain plugs in the rockers. im sure this isnt the best way to do it but its free and like i said, it worked great on my yukon. i oiled the wheel wells before winter and the rust didnt spread even one bit through the winter. havent had the ram for a winter yet though.
