The last motor I broke in I used an additive from the local machine shop. He gave me some Lucas Additive and just used normal oil. In a flat tappet motor you run the motor at 2k RPM for 20 minutes or so to break in the cam and lifters. But a roller motor is a plug and play cam. If it was me I would run the motor for 30 minutes with some break in additive and conventional oil. Then change the oil as to get out any crap that always seems to accumulate in a fresh motor. Then run it for 1k miles and fresh oil again. Oil is cheap and best to error on the side of good. Dont forget to change the filter each time you change the oil. Here is a link for some excellent additive...Good luck!
