Yes sir, I feel your pain with the repair needed to your lady! I would say yes, it would need to be trimmed...unless you were able to find different caps for the rails (just a shot in the dark). I wansnt able to get hiker guy to post pics of his to see how the fit up looked with the larger boss rails and the Bakflip. The caps are also thicker, so the rubber may get pushed up too much. These were my concerns which is why I just decided to switch rails.
