The louder ticking that goes away once its warm could be an exhaust leak.

As far as the warm ticking, these Hemis are pushrod engines and are prone to drivetrain noise, its just part of the nature of the beast.


You should here a big lift LSx, youd swear you had a sweatshop full of underage asian girls sewing dresses under the hood of your car. ITs annoying yes, some people have found different oils help quiet it down. Im a firm believer in MObil1 though. My headers made the ticking louder (long tube headers act as a megaphone for drivetrain noise) so i just put a bigger stereo in my truck to drown it out!
