That may be the case. I don't have a more difinitive answer. When I was looking to replace my stock mirrors I could not find an answer as to whether the 2500/3500 mirrors would fit. The only one's I could find for sure that would were these. I even found this site that only sells mopar/dodge/ram.

It is now my understanding that the 2500/3500 mirrors will fit the 1500. Too late for me. However, the mirrors I put on are Mopar and they do work as well as and better than I had hoped. No vibration and they are much larger than the stock mirrors. The dealer wanted $800.00 to install them. I got them for half that and installed them myself. I hope this answer is more sufficient.
